In a few days the United States will have a new president. Now, I don’t pretend to be a political expert and, to be 100% transparent, it all makes my head hurt… especially this time around.
I did watch some of the debates but had to turn it off since I could hardly believe these are the two candidates the American people thought were our best options.
With all this said, I do realize how important this election is. The new president will appoint several Justices of the Supreme Court. This, to me, is what this election is about.
Now, I’ve read several articles and social media postings from solid, extremely conservative, Catholic folks who seem to be leaning towards not voting or possibly voting for a non major party candidate who has no chance of winning. This doesn’t make any sense to me since I don’t expect any liberal leaning voter to vote for a non major party candidate… but to each their own I guess.
So, while I’m definitely not thrilled with the conservative option we have to work with… it is what it is and I’m going to vote for the major party candidate I believe will set the Supreme Court up in a conservative manner. And while our conservative option isn’t exactly the poster boy for the Pro-Life movement we know, for sure, the liberal candidate completely supports abortion… even partial birth abortion.
With all of this said, the thing I’m doing my very best to remember is that no matter who our president is later this month Jesus will always be my King. And I have complete trust in Him and Him alone. He’ll never fail you or me so long as we hold the line and stay with Him.
What about you? How are you feeling about this election? What’s driving your thought process? The Supreme Court? Abortion? Emails? Criminal activity? A rich guy with a loud/obnoxious mouth?
I’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments section below.
Until next time… be holy, eat clean, and do more push-ups!
